You have a diving qualification, but it's been a while since your last dive...

Refresh your practical scuba skills in a pool up to BSAC Ocean Diver level or equivalents such as PADI Open Water or PADI Advanced Open Water level (excludes Nitrox training).​

This course is popular with people who are qualified and are preparing for their upcoming holiday but haven't dive in a while and need a helpful reminder.

Scuba Refresher

Our experienced and certified dive instructors are passionate about sharing their love for diving while ensuring your safety at all times.

We run the Scuba Refresher over two Wednesday evenings, and you'll be in the pool both days.

We provide the kit, but if you have your own suit, mask, fins etc, feel free to bring & use these if you prefer. Upon completion of the Scuba Refresher you will receive a BSAC certificate.

At the end of the sessions, you will:

  • Be able to assemble scuba equipment
  • Be able to conduct a Buddy Check and have good buddy skills
  • Be able to clear and replace your mask
  • Have a good finning action
  • Have good buoyancy control skills
  • achieve a horizontal trim position underwater
  • Have good rescue skills
  • full alternative source (AS) ascent and controlled buoyant lift (CBL) with tow
  • Be confident with deeper entry and exit techniquesKnow the signals for ‘OK’, ‘stop’, ‘up’, ‘down’, ‘you watch me’, ‘you do’ and ‘something wrong’
  • Have good rescue skills

The BSAC Ocean Diver course is your first step onto the diving qualification ladder.

If you’re keen to learn to dive, the BSAC’s Ocean Diver course is the place to start. This entry-level open water diver qualification will equip you with the core skills to dive to a maximum of 20 metres in open water, in the UK and abroad.
