RSAC stands for Richmond Sub Aqua Club. We are the Richmond branch of the UK-based diving organisation called BSAC. What unites our 100+ members is a passion for diving.
We offer & facilitate training and diving throughout the year. This ranges from training in our swimming pool, to lake training, shore diving, UK hard boats and sea dives on our boat. We also run roughly 6 international trips a year to places like Egypt, The Philippines, Mexico, Sardinia & The Red Sea.
Yes we do. We have a range of Regulators, BC's Cylinders and weights for use by our trainees . Qualified divers can rent these from us at competitive prices, but for logistical reasons we don't have any dive suits, wet or dry.
After basic training, most people tend to buy their own equipment. You're responsible for your own gear, but there is always lots of advice around and we have a very serious attitude to safety.
Yes, The Richmond Explorer. The RIB can take up to 8 divers + 2 crew - there are only 2 seats! Equipped with O2, AED, first aid and a ladder.
Richmond Explorer is birthed in Portland, Dorset, which is our go-to diving location in the UK, making diving very affordable & easy to do often.
There are discounts on our club and BSAC subs for under 18's, and students of any age.
Beyond that, our courses are run by volunteers & the costs go towards equipment, air fills, pool rental and other operational costs, so we are unable to discount them for anyone else costs.
BSAC - the British Sub Aqua Club, is the UK governing body for the Sport. It is dedicated to promoting and facilitating Scuba Diving by setting standards for Training and Diving at all levels. BSAC qualifications are internationally recognised.
Safety is our top priority. Our certified instructors conduct thorough safety briefings before each activity, and all necessary safety equipment is provided. We adhere to BSAC Safe Diving standards to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
We are all very social people, we have a weekly social night on Wednesdays after diving. We have parties throughout the year and try to get a few BBQ's in. There is also a Christmas party and a Christmas dive, where people dress up & go diving.
You can dive with us with your existing qualification without any need for a conversion course. We offer some additional modules such as Nitrox, Rescue skills should you wish to enhance your basic qualification. Many other agencies do not offer these until later in the training progression. We welcome Instructors from other agencies who will be able to convert their instructor qualification with a short course.
